Mike adopted photography as a full-time profession in 2005 after working 27 years as a Software Engineer. His images have earned high honors in the North American Nature Photography Association’s Annual Showcase Competition and in the Audubon Magazine Photography Awards.   His publication credits include National Geographic, Smithsonian, Ranger Rick Jr., Audubon, Outdoor Photographer and Nature’s Best magazines, and his work is available for licensing through Birdimagency and Minden Pictures.  He has also authored three articles for the National Audubon Society’s web site and served as the Technical Editor for Marie Read’s “Mastering Bird Photography” book.

Mike is also passionate about teaching photography and has derived great satisfaction from seeing the work of his clients improve over the last 12 years of offering both classroom and field workshops.
